Brief History

As a Tier I and II supplier for the automotive industry, Richmond Auto Parts Technology, Inc. (RAPT) manufactures world class automatic transmission gears and component parts for the automotive industry. Strategically located 36 miles south of Lexington, Kentucky and 10 miles north of Berea, RAPT was established in 1998 with a capital investment of $23 million and in July 1999 we began mass production of transmission gears with 20 dedicated associates.

Today, RAPT employs over 170 associates from Madison and the surrounding counties. Looking to expand our business with other automotive customers, RAPT recently invested $20 million in equipment for new product lines. RAPT associates currently support 3 shifts within our facility and utilize an integrated manufacturing system which transforms bar stock material into finished goods products. We use precision measurements to ensure the highest quality of gears produced.
